Expansion, replacement and relocation Encis hardware
On Saturday, April 2, we made a wonderful new step in our data center. Not only have we now replaced quite a bit of hardware, but we also expanded and moved. The Encis team was on hand at 8 a.m. to make the transition together.
All new network components had already been completed at the new location and a crosslink had already been made to this new network environment. Thus, our customers had already been working over the new network for several weeks. The new servers had been placed and new clusters set up. Physically moving everything was an extensive job. First, all servers were removed one by one. With special server elevators we set to work. A lot of screwing and then often up and down with the elevator. And then slowly rebuilt. On the one hand the servers, which of course are fully redundant, and on the other hand the entire network and cabling. From 5 p.m. onwards we could slowly start everything up again and around 6 p.m. we were live again. This was quite a feat of teamwork!
